Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 13, 2026
Overview
ContactSweep is designed to help you find and clean up duplicate contacts. Your privacy is important, and the app is built so that contact analysis happens on your device.
Contacts Access
ContactSweep asks for access to your contacts only so it can scan your contact list, identify possible duplicates, and help you review merge options.
ContactSweep does not store, upload, sell, or send your contact list anywhere. Contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, organizations, and related contact details are processed locally on your device for the purpose of duplicate detection and cleanup.
Information We Do Not Collect
ContactSweep does not collect or maintain a server-side database of your personal contact information. In particular, we do not collect:
- Your contact list or address book contents
- Contact names, phone numbers, email addresses, or addresses
- Merge results or duplicate contact groups
- Copies of your contacts before or after cleanup
Advertising
ContactSweep uses Google advertising services to display banner ads. Google and its advertising partners may collect or receive certain information from your device to provide, measure, and improve ads. This may include device identifiers, approximate location, ad interaction data, and other information described by Google.
Google advertising services do not receive your contact list from ContactSweep. ContactSweep does not share your contacts with Google for advertising.
You can learn more about how Google uses information from apps and sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your contact list with third parties. Advertising-related data may be handled by Google as described above and according to Google's own policies.
Data Security
Because ContactSweep processes contact matching locally and does not upload your contact list, the app reduces the privacy risks associated with remote storage. You should still keep your device secure and use the privacy controls provided by your operating system.
Your Choices
You can deny or revoke contact access through your device settings. If contact access is disabled, ContactSweep will not be able to scan your contacts for duplicates.
You may also manage advertising preferences using your device settings and any controls provided by Google or your operating system.
Children's Privacy
ContactSweep is not intended to collect personal information from children. The app does not knowingly collect contact data from children or store contact information on external servers.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are made, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
